| The Linzer Aach gave its name to the Linzgau |
...to one of the most beautiful landscapes at the Lake Constance!
The Linzgau is a landscape in the south of Baden-Württemberg / Germany. It is limited in the south by the Lake Constance and in the east by the River Schussen. In the west the Linzgau reaches approximately to Überlingen and in the north until Pfullendorf.
The name originally goes back to a latin derivative of the celtic river name Lentia, which was displaced later by the German name Linzer Aach (also Seefelder Aach). The before-Germanic name still exists in the place name Linz (today to Aach Linz, city Pfullendorf), a place close to the source of the Aach.
